ALL YOU WANT IS TO GET INTO SHAPE, FEEL GREAT, PERFORM BETTER AND LOOK AMAZING, RIGHT?
Well, that is exactly what you're going to get!
So, what makes the Art of Undieting different to any other diet?
IT'S SIMPLE... YOU ARE GOING TO GET MORE THAN WHAT YOU'VE ASKED FOR.
Let me explain...
We all deserve to thrive!
We all deserve to feel confident and happy in our own skin and each one of us has the potential to create that life. In a world where we are bombarded with information, from the latest diet craze to the perfectly sculpted bodies on the covers of fitness magazines, it is difficult to know what is best for you and your family.
We live in a strange world...
We live in a society where dieting is the norm and your jeans size is more important than your health. We drink "magic" weight-loss formulas, starve ourselves, count calories and weigh our food. We eat unappetising, bland diet food that offers very little nutrients to our bodies, we deprive ourselves of anything that tastes good and we train ourselves to ignore feelings of hunger. We do all of this in an attempt to see that magic number on the scale.
But at what cost?
We do all of this without realizing that half of what we do causes inflammation, which has a direct negative impact on our health, energy levels, sleep, mood, digestion, hormones, brain function, performance and ability to reach our ideal weight. Not to mention that chronic inflammation is linked to all lifestyle diseases from heart disease to obesity, diabetes, autoimmune disease, Alzheimers and even cancer.
It's time to fuel your body with what it really needs!
Our bodies need nutrients. Nutrients are necessary for overall health, wellness and performance, from a healthy immune and digestive system, to providing energy and to help us heal and recover. So, what foods are most nutrient-dense? It's simple... whole food in its most natural form. I'm talking about unprocessed single-ingredient food. A lemon is a lemon, avocado is avocado and a piece of fish is a piece of fish. None of these foods need a label or fancy packaging because real food doesn't have a list of ingredients, it is the ingredient.
What about calories?
You’ve probably heard of the calories in/calories out model, which states that in order to lose weight, you must burn more calories than you consume. And while in theory that may be true, in reality, the model is flawed. The model fails to take into account the composition of those calories and how it affects your body - everything from your blood sugar levels to your insulin levels, digestion, metabolism, hunger hormones and future cravings. Our bodies are complex, and different foods create complex interactions with our bodies that can help or hinder our health, performance and ability to reach our ideal body weight.
Nutrients v Calories
Our bodies need nutrients, not calories. 100 calories of broccoli may deliver the same energy as 100 calories of white chocolate, but you don’t need me to tell you that broccoli is packed with nutrients that will nourish your body and that white chocolate is pro-inflammatory, has zero nutrients and is high in sugar. People also often exclude nutrient-dense superfoods like avocados, salmon and nuts from their diet just because they’re higher in calories. Instead, they go for something with very little nutritional value, like a 100-calorie pack of crackers, just because it will help you stay under your calorie allotment for the day.
What's wrong with diet food?
Diet food is typically low in calories and low in nutrients. Yes, you might lose weight if you follow a low-calorie diet, but you're also starving your body from nutrients it desperately needs to be healthy and to function optimally. Low-calorie diets are not sustainable and you will very quickly run out of energy and feel miserable from eating unappetizing, boring and bland diet food. What's the point of looking great on the outside if you're starving on the inside? Optimal health can only be achieved if your body gets the nutrients it needs.
And what about junk food?
Don't get me started on junk food. Junk food is typically high in calories and low in nutrients. Junk food is also highly inflammatory and will leave you feeling bloated, indigested and lethargic at best. I often hear people say: "I can eat whatever I want, because I train hard and burn everything I eat" or "As long as I maintain a calorie deficit, I can eat what I want, right?" Wrong! Once again, you're starving your body from nutrients it desperately needs to function optimally. True health and sustainable weight-loss can only be achieved if your body functions optimally.
What happens in my body when I eat nutrient-dense food?
Real food is delicious, satisfying and high in nutrients, period! When you eat nutrient-dense real food you're not only fuelling your body with what it needs to function optimally, but you're also calming down the fire inside your body (inflammation) that's making you sick and fat. A body that functions optimally has the ability to heal, to recover, to be strong, to endure stress, to train harder, to perform better and to naturally reach your ideal weight.
What else happens?
You will completely transform your health. You will have more energy, sleep better, have a strong immune system, be happier, focus better and concentrate for longer. You will experience drastic improvements in your mood, allergies, digestive problems, hormones, brain function, headaches, migraines, cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure... and that is what the Art of Undieting is all about.
So, why should I do the Art of Undieting?
The Art of Undieting is about more than just the number on the scale. It's about changing the way you eat and think about food. It's about fuelling your body with delicious, nutrient-dense food for optimal health, performance and immunity. It's about lasting, sustainable change to enable you to ultimately live your best life ever.
